CEOs of African Regional Economic Communities (RECs) are currently in Accra, Ghana for the 6th African Union coordination meeting.
This 6th coordination meeting of the African Union bringing together regional economic communities (RECs), regional mechanisms (RMs) and Member States began on July 18, 2024 with the 45th session of the Executive Council.
The African Union RECs are:
I. Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)
II.Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS)
III. Southern African Development Community (SADC)
IV.Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA)
V. East African Community (EAC)
VI. Community of Sahelo-Saharan States (CEN-SAD)
VII.Arab Maghreb Union (UMA)
VIII.Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD)
